Consolidated News is the corporate newsletter of Consolidated Papers, Inc., a papermaking company headquarter in Wisconsin Rapids. The company is known for its pioneering role in the production of coated papers. This is the third series of the Consolidated News, covering September 1963 through the Fourth Quarter of 2000. Volumes range from four to twelve annual issues. During this series, the company had divisions in Appleton, Niagara, Biron, Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids, Wisconsin. The newsletter reports on the finances and production of the company. Typical issues include: hirings, transfers, retirements; obituaries of current or former employees; reports from divisions; safety programs; and corporate, union and community news. In the late 1960s, Consolidated constructed a kraft pulp mill. In 1970, they purchased Castle Rock Container Company, a corrugated container plant. In 1984, Consolidated launched a $215 million expansion of the Biron mill. In 1985, Consoweld was sold off
