View from street level of the Gile Building, located on the 400 bloc of Main Street, in downtown La Crosse, WI. The building held the Post Office from 1880-1890, then the Doerflinger from 1897 until 1903, when the building was destroyed by fire.
Original photograph owned by the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Murphy Library Special Collections.
The photograph was scanned as part of a collaboration with The Pediment Group, and is included in the book, "La Crosse Memories: The Early Years," published in 2016.
