Mr. and Mrs. Lacy stand outside a building. Protesters carrying signs stand behind them. Milwaukee police were looking for a suspect on June 9, 1981, when they spotted Ernest Lacy. Lacy had never committed a crime, but struggled with mental health issues, and the officers used force when placing him under arrest. Lacy died in police custody. The officers involved were found guilty of failing to render first aid.
