Aerial view looking South of the 900-foot addition to the Soo Line ore dock in Chequamegon Bay, Ashland, Wisconsin, during construction.
The construction of the Soo Line ore dock in Ashland, Wisconsin, took place during 1916 and 1917. This dock was designed by Toltz Engineering Company of St. Paul, Minnesota, (today TKDA) and built by General Contractors: Foley Brothers and Peppard and Fulton of St. Paul. In 1925 additional construciton increased the size of the ore dock to 1,800 feet.
