This photograph shows Chick's Chicken, which advertises "Delicious Chicken Dinners", and Pinky's Tap, which advertises Schlitz beer. The old, clapboard structure was torn down. The Wisconsin Center stands in its place.
May 65 / Streets - W Wells / Wudtke Collection / Lower picture, photo of May 1965, two former old wood frame residences, altered for business purposes located at se cor W Wells - N 6th str's. As site of residence (at left) as by Ferdinand Siekert (a tailor) from around year of 1864 to 1872 after that as res at the corner, Siekert died Oct 11 1899, and res then continued to be occ by Albert C. Sierkert up to year 1901-02. The res at left formerly occ by Ferdind Siekert up to 1872 was then occ by Alb Poppe or Popper (a sailor) and by various others thereafter. Building still remains 1968.
