A close view of the Schlitz Palm Garden's (adjacent to the Schlitz Hotel) ornate entrance and Schlitz Globe. The Palm Garden was a very popular spot for nightlife until Prohibition forced it out of business.
Schlitz Palm Garden entrance N 3rd St on the east side of the street between W Wisconsin Ave and W Michigan St. Built in 1895. Entrance designed by Charles Kirchoff, Jr. It also had an entrance from the hotel lobby. In 1919, the firm of Kirchoff and Rose converted the Palm Garden into a movie theater. The building was razed in 1964.
