Exterior view of the three story white Bedford stone building, the Ashland County Courthouse. In the foreground are sidewalks and some landscaping, and in the background on the left are other buildings and on the right is Lake Superior.
The present Ashland County Courthouse, located at 201 West 2nd Street (201 West Main Street) was built in 1915, and the county offices were moved in on Dec. 27, 1915. It was decided to hire the architectural services of H.W. Buemming and Henry Wildhagen, Associated Architects, and this building was constructed entirely of white Bedford stone.
