This photograph shows the building formerly located at 1246 N Van Buren St, an early Milwaukee home. This structure was demolished in July of 1964. A new structure was built in its place and given the same address. It is currently home to Kings Head Hair Salon.
Jan 64 / Streets - N. Van Buren Wudtke Collection / Picture below, residence located at the southeast corner of North Van Buren and East Knapp streets, photo os January 5, 1964, building razed July 1964. Early owners of lot at corner and two adjoining lots, as Philetus C. Hale and (Julius Bannister of Pittsfield, Mass.). Early records mention of building, year of 1850, Lapham map of 1855 indicates a small place very likely as a home, at corner of lot, site of present building shown. Property throughout the years under various different ownerships.
