The original of this map by Champlain accompanied his book, Voyages de la Nouvelle France Occidentale Dicte Canada Faits par le Sr de Champlain... (Paris: Claude Collet, 1632) [Voyages to Western New France, called Canada, Made by Sieur de Champlain]. Shown here is a Heliotype facsimile of the original map, removed from the 1880 Boston translation by Charles Pomeroy Otis. It was meant to illustrate his travels in North America between 1603 and 1629.
