- Description
Courthouse Square looking South toward Polk street. (A)The old Courthouse. When the new Courthouse was built this structure was moved down Jackson Street and deposited at an undetermined spot along the west side of either Metonga or Central avenues where it still stands today as someone’s home. Does anyone have reason to believe that they might be residing in a former courthouse? If so, come forward please. (B) The Lucy Hale House (C) the Steeple of the Presbyterian Church (D) the Jail. This photo is unique in the collection in that it has aesthetic as well as historic values. It reminds one of the Japanese style of painting.
