A black and white photograph featuring refugees boarding a plane at Volk Field, Camp Douglas, Wisconsin, taken by the La Crosse Tribune photographer Dick Riniker on September 29, 1980. The caption reads: "Cuban refugees board plane at Volk Field (Wis) for the flight to Ft. Chaffee. The Cubans were brought to Volk Field via a 20 minute bus ride on Greyhounds. Once at Volk, Army infantrymen formed a ring around the bus and plane." The photograph was included in article titled "Refugee airlift continues," written by Bill White and published in the La Crosse Tribune on September 30, 1980.
