The Yellow River is also known as the Huang He. In 1938, levees built to stabilize the river were purposefully breached near Zhengzhou to delay the advance of Japanese troops during the Second Sino-Japanese War. This image was taken as Harrison Forman was flying above Henan, Jiangsu and Anhui provinces.
