The Miller Furniture store, owned by Patrick Miller, started on fire late on January 2, 1942. The store was gutted, and this image shows the aftermath of the fire. The loss from the fire was estimated at $10,000. The store was rebuilt later in 1942 (Milwaukee Sentinel, January 3, 1942).
