This diary, written by Increase Lapham, includes details about his daily life, work, family, travels, and interests. The diary begins with a brief history of Lapham's life before semi-frequent entries begin in 1827. The diary was predominately written in Shippingport, Kentucky, and Portsmouth, Ohio. There are no entries from January 11, 1830 to August 19, 1831, and January 4, 1833 to March 14, 1833. Pages 63 through 138 are blank, pages 150 through 151 do not exist.
