Postcard of Iowa Street showing the Iowa County Courthouse, Strong's Bank, the Woerpel Building housing the Dodge Theater, which is showing the movie 'Bridge to the Sun', the Harry D. Wurster Building, the William D. Pascoe Building and the Sarah Owens Building. Construction on the courthouse was begun in 1859 after it was decided to move the county government from Mineral Point to Dodgeville. Thomas Carkeek was the leading Cornish stonemason working on the project. The Iowa County Courthouse is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
