About 20 Yao (Iu Mien) girls are lined up next to a bamboo fence for the New Year celebrations in the Yao town of Nam Kheung (LS-150, PC 3256) in Houa Khong Province. The young women are along a path that leads into the town forming a reception line to welcome guests from outside Nam Kheung as well as dignitaries. They are wearing their finest clothing and jewelry. The white socks and shoes are not traditional, but a recent addition to traditional dress.
