- Description
This folder contains correspondence among civil rights workers about ways of addressing poverty among blacks in Mississippi, pointing out the lack of school lunches in many schools, seeking federal programs that might help, looking into organizing agricultural laborers into unions, helping them find employment at nearby military bases or in factories. Many of the letters seek printed materials from government agencies and congressmen; others are related to Jane Adams' and Jesse Morris's attempts to organize a conference on forming an agricultural union for late 1964.
