Oral history interview with Mona Adams Winston. Mona grew up on Lakeshore Court, next to Lake Monona in Madison, Wisconsin. Mona recounts childhood stories and memories including riding the city bus downtown to pay her family's bills at various businesses; picnics and other gatherings in Brittingham Park and Penn Park; and events at the South Madison Neighborhood Center. She shares family stories about her uncle, Edward Matthews, who did barrel-racing in Wisconsin rodeos; as well as her mother, Addrena Matthews Adams Squires, and grandmother, Mamie Taylor Matthews.
