The primary documents from 1964 in this folder consist of a March 1964 COFO report to the Mississippi Advisory Committee to the U.S. Commission on Civil Rights "on behalf of the state's 950,000 Negroes" which includes lengthy lists of incidents, the report by Bob Moses on Louis Allen's murder and assorted related stories of murder and intimidation against Mississippi blacks, a description of the many laws passed by the Mississippi state legislature to impede civil rights workers' efforts to help blacks register to vote, and a list of Friends of SNCC groups and their contact information. There's also a very thorough 1965 SDS report, written for college groups, on the history of the MFDP voter registration efforts and Freedom Votes and the legal background of the MFDP's challenge to the Democratic National Convention; a list of tapes from a 1965 Freedom School workshop; a 1966 issue of a SNCC newsletter ("Aframerican News for You") from Atlanta which addresses local, national, and intern
