This folder contains mostly personal and professional correspondences with Increase Allen Lapham in the year 1868. These letters pertain to a variety of Lapham's interests, particularly forest conservation, rocks and minerals, botany, meteorites, and geology. In a short, but interesting letter, Lapham discusses the low pay educators receive. Other items in this folder include: "Limestone in Adams County, June 24th"; "Map of Portage County with Manuscript Markings and Notes"; "Dr. Edward Wunderly"; "Circular 'New-England Historic-Genealogical Society'"; "Fear's Patent: Artificial Stone, Stucco, Mastic Cement, etc. and Fear's Patent Pressing Machine"; "Note on Red Sandstone"; "Notes on Quarries"; and "Various Notes on Stones and Minerals."
