- Description
This commercial vernacular structure was built in 1877 by Hackett and Buckley with S. Shipman as the architect. N. W. Sallade's Drugstore was located here. Moses Young later took over the drugstore business, and Sallade ran the Mansion House, a local hotel. After Moses Young, Ike Weaver was the next druggist to occupy the building. The building has housed various businesses since then. Several local craftsmen were involved in the construction of the original building. The building is architecturally significant and a pivotal property of the Main Street Commercial Historic District. Lady Luv now occupies the building.
The Reedsburg Historic Survey was conducted from October 1983 through April 1984 by the City of Reedsburg and community volunteers. The project was funded, in part, by a National Park Service and U. S. Department of the Interior grant, administered by the Historic Preservation Division of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The surveys and accompanying photographs, housed at the Reedsburg Public Library, were compiled to determine National Register of Historic Places eligibility.
