- Description
This is a condensation of lectures and lessons recorded at the 1976 Summer Institute at the University of WI.--Stevens Point. Dr. Suzuki discusses the importance of achieving an equal tone on each string. Perpetual motion is transposed for use on the D and G strings. In this tape, Dr. Suzuki teaches the importance of Vertical Power for equal tone on each string. The beginning songs emphasize the E and A strings. Students mastering Perpetual Motion are encouraged to transpose this and previous pieces to the D and G strings. This involves different angles of weight applied as the bow on the G string level is now parallel to the floor. Vertical Power refers to Dr. Suzuki's emphasis on the vertical motion of the elbow for good tone production and avoidance of bouncing, crunching, and slip-tones.
