This mid-19th century map shows the street grid of Madison, Wisconsin, adjacent towns and sections, routes of railroads and projected railroads, roads, post offices, and lakes and streams. Tables identify major landmarks in Madison and the meanings of the "Indian" names of the lakes and Yahara River.
