Funeral Mass for Father Elwell concelebrated by the Reverend Duane R. S. Mills, rector of Grace Church, Sheboygan, Wisconsin and the Reverend John O. Bruce of Waupun, Wisconsin, a former curate of the parish. Born in Sheboygan, Wisconsin September 14, 1901, a son of Robert Spalding and Mary Josephine Howlett Elwell. Elwell died at All Saints Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania after 12 years of deteriorating health from Parkinson's disease. Elwell's served as scoutmaster of Troop 1 and the troop's musical burlesque of "Romeo and Juliet" was publicized in Life Magazine in 1938. Elwell's life and accomplishment are related. Burial was in Wildwood Cemetary, Sheboygan, Wisconsin.
