Four story, large corner brick building with mansard roof. Italianate style, roundhead windows. Horse and part of cart seen in lower right foreground. Streets otherwise empty. Wooden sidewalks, earth streets. Gas street light seen on corner in center foreground.
The Sexton Building. Southeast corner of N. Broadway and E. Michigan Streets. This four-story building was erected in 1867. In 1876 it was sold to the Friend Brothers Clothing Company. In 1882, one more story was added. It was razed in 1971. A parking lot now occupies this site.
