- Description
"Checking the color of beer from a recent brewing test at the USDA's Barley and Malt Lab are the lab's brewmaster, Eddie Goplin (left) and David Peterson, director of the facility. The lab, located on the UW-Madison campus, conducts research on barley and oats improvement and tests grains for public breeders. As a sideline, lab researchers also brew beer to search for ways to improve on the process and the product."
