- Description
The M.E. Ryan "resturant" and grocery was at 31 High Street in 1893. In the window behind the young man wearing the wide brimmed hat is a placard advertising the Mineral Point Band Picnic on Tuesday, August 15. A bunch of bananas hangs in the window to the left. According the Wisconsin Architecture and History Inventory, this was originally a one story building, with the eastern half constructed around 1840. The second story was added in 1867 by Theodore Feder and used as a shoe shop.
