Northeast corner of E. Wisconsin Ave (then Wisconsin St.) and N. Broadway (then Main St.) in the 1850s. View is looking north up N. Broadway. The telegraph poles at left would have been relatively recent additions to the streetscape; the first telegraph transmission to Milwaukee was in 1848.
