- Description
Digital Image Description: Black and white image of many people sitting in the grand stands watching horse racing. Only one person is identified as the great grandfather of the donor. (Center right of picture 2nd from left of pole with hat.) A Ferris wheel can be seen in the background. Accompanying Information: Yet another photo for you this morning. This one is from 1936 (marked on back) and was taken in the old grandstand at the Richland County Fairgrounds. Daniel James Poole (G Grandfather) is seated in the "walkway" row to the left of the "#8 post" and next to an unknown boy in the white shirt. I still have Dan's hat. Of course. Other people in photo are unidentified. Dan had race horses and was always interested in the races at the fair. Perhaps that is what the crowd is watching. Photo is an 8"x10".
