- Description
James Kinney house, built 1847. James Kinney came from Ireland, probably in the mid 1840s. Kinney, his wife Katherine, and their two young sons lived here in 1850 along with several boarders, also from Ireland. Early Sanborn maps show a frame staircase on the east side of the house which provided access to the upper floor, where the boarders may have lived. A large hearth in one of the basement rooms implies that the kitchen may originally have been in the basement of this house.
