Signed and dated in lower right: "Claggett Wilson/ 1939"
"Jacob's Ladder" mural painted directly on the wall over the fireplace in the parlor of the Main House at Ten Chimneys, Genesee Depot, Wisconsin. Two winged figures in robes climb a ladder and look on at a sleeping figure in blue and orange robes. Gray painted smoke extends up the wall, over the crown molding, and onto the ceiling. The vignette is bordered by a painted frame in gold and orange. Crown molding found above the image and throughout the parlor is painted with baskets of fruit and acanthus leaves. A darker gray rectangle near the center of the image reveals the condition of the murals before they were restored in the 1990s.
