- Description
This Second Empire structure was built ca. 1885-1892. Prior to 1885 a smaller building was on this site and used as a hardware shop. In 1894 Henry Fritscher bought this building from Behn and was converting it for use as a restaurant. In 1913, A. Luetkens bought the property. The building has also been used as a restaurant and hotel, as well as a hardware and tin shop. The R.G. Simeon Offices were located here at the time of the survey.
The Reedsburg Historic Survey was conducted from October 1983 through April 1984 by the City of Reedsburg and community volunteers. The project was funded, in part, by a National Park Service and U. S. Department of the Interior grant, administered by the Historic Preservation Division of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The surveys and accompanying photographs, housed at the Reedsburg Public Library, were compiled to determine National Register of Historic Places eligibility.
