- Description
Map of the United States east of the Mississippi River. It shows borders, treaty lines, forts, cities, towns, Native American land, mountains, swamps, lakes, and rivers. Borders and annotations designate the lands granted or reserved for various troops and companies of the American Revolutionary War, particularly between the Illinois and Ohio River. Other annotations dot the map, including one that stretches across the Midwest reading "divided into 10 states by a Resolve of Congress in 1784."
