- Description
Map of America showing rivers, lakes, mountains, and regions, but primarily focusing on the French and Native American settlements along the Mississippi that blocked the English from expanding west. An illustration of a landscape adorned with trees and foliage supports the title cartouche in the lower right corner. Kitchin created the map for the London Magazine and included with it are two pages of a letter to the editor that discusses the French settlements and the need for aggressive action against the French to secure the English colonies.
