Gray ungrained cloth. Black, red, and gray stamping and photograph onlay on front. Black stamping on spine. No decoration on back. Cream endpapers.

From Minsky: A printed paper label for the face, hair and inside of the hat, combined with stamping in black, gray, and red directly on the cloth for the rest of the design. This copy has a Grosset and Dunlap title page and dust jacket, but is in the C.M. Clark binding of their 1904 edition. Designed by Charles H. Stephens, unsigned, design repeats frontispiece.
