This photograph shows E Mason St, looking west from N Broadway. Visible businesses include the Adam Roth Saloon (98-100 Mason St), Franz Falk Brewing (435 E Water St) and J. C. Iversen & Company, (435-437 E Water St). This area was known as Newspaper Row, since there were many newspapers being printed here at the time. Some of the newspapers in the area were the Herold, the Sentinel, the Evening Journal, the See-Bote and the Legal News.
