- Description
This photographic print, taken by a Portage photographer around the turn of the twentieth century, is mounted on matboard and features the residence of then-owner, John von Gonten. This understated Queen Anne style residence on Dunn Street was built in 1900. Queen Anne details include the steeply pitched gable roof with multiple rooflines, dominant front-facing gable, turned columns, and fish scale wood shingling, and geometric rail pattern. The annotation, located at the bottom left-hand corner of the object, lists the 1952 resident of this dwelling as Mrs. A. von Gonten.
