- Description
A scene at one of A.O. Anderson’s logging camps near Omer Lundt’s present home on Lundt Road east of Crandon. Theodore Lundt, Omer’s father, is the man seated with his hands in his lap. The seated man in a white shirt, vest and tie is Anderson. The man on the right, also in white shirt, is “Max” Mac Auldy a neighbor of Theodore. Anderson was from Shawano. During the logging season he would come up by train bringing his crew and his own “Jammer” with him. The logs would then be delivered by train down to Shawano. Logging which had to be done in the winter was a tough way to make a living. These men worked hard and long in freezing temperatures. Injuries, despite every effort to avoid them, were common.
