1962 affidavits regarding beatings and manhandling of civil rights workers in the South. Assorted handwritten and incomprehensible notes. An account of summer 1964 incidents between New Jersey police and black youth. A document: "Do you think Negroes should own their own stores and businesses [in Opelusas, Louisiana]?" A document about the possibility of establishing a sweet potato co-op in Louisiana. Minutes from an January 1964 Operation Freedom Meeting with a Memorandum for the Discussion [about putting pressure on the South African government to end apartheid]; "Tentative Proposal for San Francisco Legal Services Program"; a 1968 list of names and contact information of "Northern Placements"; a handwritten proposal for ways to integrate a contractors' union.
