- Description
A map of the western hemisphere, including parts of western Europe and Africa, showing the division of the Americas by the European powers. Weapons and foliage, topped with an elaborate umbrella, decorate the cartouche. The bottom left corner holds a chart which details the colonial holdings. Of particular note is the depiction of various explorations of the northwest region, including the route of Chirikov in 1741.
