Peter James Shaffer (1867-1949). Born: 8 February 1867, Bloom Township, Richland County, Wisconsin, to James B. Shaffer (1830-1891) & Mary Catherine James Shaffer James (1844-1941). Siblings: Florence Phoebe Shaffer Curtis (1870-1957), Blanche Shaffer Long, Albert Mason Shaffer (1877-1910), Elnora Shaffer Merry. Married: 8 September 1888 to Etta Ohio Withrow Shaffer (1862-1939). Children: Ruby E. Shaffer Essex (1891-1970), James Leonard Shaffer (1896-1913). Farmed in the Bloom City area as well as operating a store in Bloom City. Member of the Methodist Church in Bloom City. Died: 6 February 1949, Richland Hospital, Richland Center, Wisconsin. Buried: Bloom City cemetery.
