- Description
June 1964 WATS line calls include the arrests and beatings of several civil rights workers in jail; church burnings; and reports of blacks' attempts to attend Democratic Party precinct meetings around the state. What dominate this folder, however, are the missing three civil rights workers and the surrounding national publicity and efforts to find them and Bob Moses' plea to northerners to stay in the North rather than come, untrained in nonviolent tactics, to the South to help with Freedom Summer.
