The USS Sheboygan was a built by the Globe Shipbuilding Company located in Superior, Wisconsin. She launched July 31, 1943 and was commissioned May 26, 1944. She was decommissioned March 14, 1946. City of Sheboygan Mayor Willard Sonneberg and the entire Common Council attended the christening in Superior, Wisconsin. Unidentified woman breaking a bottle of champagne over the hull of the USS Sheboygan.
