- Description
The street clock shows that it is 9:30 on a sunny morning at the intersection of Grand Ave (now W Wisconsin Ave) and W Water St (now N Plankinton), sometime in the late 19th or early 20th century. Adam Bloedel's Jewelers, at what was then 127 Grand Ave, advertises "souvenir spoons" in addition to diamonds. The streetcar schedule posted on the sign at right indicates cars departing for Wauwatosa, North Greenfield, and Waukesha. "Remember When" used this image (RW 227), noting it was taken during Carnival Week.
