Three story Richardsonian Romanesque stone mansion. Covered carport side entry seen on right. Open 3rd floor tower porch on right of home. Four fireplace chimneys visible. Large lot surrounds house. Note fine stonework details on all floors.
Residence of Mrs. Margaret A. Johnston. 1492 W. Wisconsin Avenue. Northeast corner of N. 15th Street and W. Wisconsin Avenue. Built around 1890 by John Plankinton for his daugher Elizabeth. Stood vacant until 1896 when it was purchased by Mrs. M.A. Johnston, widow of Hugh L. Johnston. Purchased in 1910 by Knights of Columbus Pere Marquette Council 524.
