This folder contains both personal and professional correspondences of Increase A. Lapham (1811-1875) for the years 1871 through 1875, divided into chapters 22 through 26 of a rough draft biography. Also in this folder are several drawings by Lapham and others, essays, lectures, and reports. Many of Lapham's professional works contain data from his experiments. Chapter 25 includes the essay "On the Relation of The Wisconsin Geological Survey to Agriculture", chapter 26 includes the essay "Reminiscences of Milwaukee County. The Claim Law of 1837 - First Agricultural Society - Plank Roads &c.", an essay written for the American Journal of Science titled "Geological Survey of Wisconsin"; and an essay title "Mound Builders. Models of Mounds Prepared for the Centennial '1876' of Philadelphia PA". A miscellaneous essay and map appear at the end of the folder titled "The Cranberry" and "Map of the Lakes & Drives, Around Oconomowoc, Wisconsin: A Favorite Summer Resort." The contents of this fo
