215 North Walnut St, Reedsburg, Sauk County, Wisconsin

This colonial revival structure was built in 1937 for use as a post office. Louis A. Simon was the supervising architect, and Neal A. Melick was the supervising engineer for the project. Dean Construction of Minneapolis was given the contract. The lot had belonged to Schweke. Prior to 1937 the post office in Reedsburg had existed at several different locations under various postmasters. A mural in the entry was painted by Richard Jansen in 1940 and was a WPA project. The building is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The Reedsburg Historic Survey was conducted from October 1983 through April 1984 by the City of Reedsburg and community volunteers. The project was funded, in part, by a National Park Service and U. S. Department of the Interior grant, administered by the Historic Preservation Division of the State Historical Society of Wisconsin. The surveys and accompanying photographs, housed at the Reedsburg Public Library, were compiled to determine National Register of Historic Places eligibility.
