Japanese Garden, Schofield Hall Atrium, Winter scene, January 1994. Garden design by Randy Palmer, Grounds Manager/Landscape Architect; Originator and coordinator was Ada Bors, Japanese Garden Projects, 1976-1999. Sign located in basement of Schofield Hall reads that at a 1996 reunion at the university, World War II veterans alumni wanted to donate money for a special project. "They chose the refurbishment of the Japanese Garden because the project symbolized the restoration of peace and the rebuilding of international relations after the war. This group is the major private sponsor of the garden's refurbishment."
