- Description
Natalie bought this Judy Niemeyer pattern with many pieces at a show and because there were so many pieces, she filed it away for several years. She visited Mill House Quilts a few years ago and learned that they were having a class to learn how to make this pattern. The class covered 2 full days, one each in January and February. She learned how to make the individual pieces in the January class, the "pie pieces" and then she learned how to assemble all the pieces at the February class. She was inspired to take this class and make the quilt because she was going to be turning 50 and needed a challenge. She spent all of the time between the January and February class sewing and thanked her husband for cooking all the meals. This quilt is called Feathered Star. It is a square quilt in a large starburst pattern, with the center star made of black and gray material. The star is made of blues, purples, creams, and browns. The star is surrounded by a background that is brown with an orange
