- Description
Postcard with image by local photographer Charles P. Ziegler showing the 1892 three-story Columbus City Hall as viewed from the corner of W. James St. and Broadway (now Dickason Boulevard) circa 1900. The architecture is Richardsonian Romanesque Revival style. Notable are the clock tower and fire bell, which was removed when the fire department moved to a new building in 1946, and the fountain on the boulevard. The City Hall was built to house the city government, police, fire, and the City Auditorium, a 450-seat venue on the top two floors.
